Doping in cycling

Less you think this blog is only about football, I give you cycling news. A former teammate of Lance Armstrong has come forward to say that he took performance enhancing drugs during the 1999 Tour de France. Frankie Andreu states that he and another cyclist took the drugs and that he has no knowledge of whether Armstrong did or did not.

Andreu spoke with Steve Innskeep on NPR's Morning Edition this morning. You can listen to the interview online. He blatantly states that this admission is only about himself.

My take: this is a means of bringing down the credibility of Armstrong. Plain and simple. Why speak on this now? What good does it do?
